How to Set Up a Catch-All Email Address in Webuzo
A catch-all address collects any email sent to your domain, even to names that do not exist — so a message meant for sales@yourdomain.com still reaches you when someone types sale@yourdomain.com by mistake. In Webuzo this is called the default address, and it takes a moment to set up.
Set the catch-all (default) address
- Log in to your Webuzo Enduser Panel.
- Open the Email section and look for Default Address or Catch-All.
- Choose your domain, then set the action to forward unmatched mail to one of your real mailboxes.
- Enter the destination address and save.
From now on, anything sent to an address that does not exist lands in that inbox instead of bouncing.
A word of caution about spam
Catch-all addresses attract a lot of spam, because spammers guess random names at your domain. If your catch-all inbox fills with junk, consider turning it off and instead creating the specific mailboxes and forwarders you actually need.
You can also filter the noise — see creating email filters in Webuzo.
Frequently asked questions
Does a catch-all store mail or forward it?
It forwards unmatched mail to the mailbox you choose. Make sure that mailbox has enough space so nothing is lost.
Should I use a catch-all or individual forwarders?
For a few known addresses, specific forwarders are cleaner and far less spammy. Use a catch-all only when you genuinely need to capture everything.
My catch-all is flooded with spam. What now?
Switch the default action to discard unmatched mail, then rely on real mailboxes and forwarders for the addresses you use.
