How to Upgrade or Downgrade Your Hosting Plan

Your hosting needs change over time — maybe your traffic has grown and you need more power, or maybe you would like to trim costs. Either way, changing your VernalWeb hosting plan is straightforward, and your website stays online throughout.

How to change your plan

  1. Log in to your VernalWeb client area at clients.vernalweb.com.
  2. Go to Services and select the hosting package you want to change.
  3. Choose Upgrade/Downgrade from the management options.
  4. Pick your new plan and review the price difference — the system prorates the amount for the rest of your billing cycle.
  5. Confirm, and complete any payment due.

Most upgrades apply automatically within minutes. If a change needs manual work, our team steps in to complete it.

Before you upgrade or downgrade

  • Upgrading: check that your new plan comfortably covers your resource usage and disk space.
  • Downgrading: make sure your current disk usage, email accounts and domains fit within the smaller plan’s limits first. Trim files if needed — check your disk usage.

Frequently asked questions

Will my website go offline during the change?

Upgrades and downgrades are designed to be seamless, with little or no downtime. We recommend a recent backup beforehand, just as good practice.

Do I get a refund when I downgrade?

The billing system usually applies prorated credit toward future invoices. Exact terms depend on your plan — open a ticket if you would like the specifics for your account.

Can I move from shared hosting to a VPS this way?

That is more of a migration than a simple plan change. See the hosting types comparison and contact us — we will handle moving your data across.
