How to Check and Reduce Disk Usage in Webuzo
When your hosting account runs low on disk space, uploads fail, email can stop arriving, and your site may misbehave. The fix is to see what is using the space and clear what you do not need. Webuzo makes both steps easy.
Check your disk usage
- Log in to your Webuzo Enduser Panel.
- Look at the statistics on your dashboard for a quick disk figure.
- For detail, open the File Manager and check which folders are largest.
Where space usually hides
- Old backups stored on the server — download them and remove the copies.
- Cache folders from WordPress or other apps, which can grow large.
- Email — big attachments and full Trash/Spam folders count too.
- Log files that have grown over time.
- Unused files — old sites, downloads and duplicate media.
Free up space safely
Using the File Manager, delete what you genuinely no longer need — but take a backup first if you are unsure. For email, empty Trash and Spam folders to reclaim space. Remember to also watch your inode count (the number of files), since thousands of tiny files can hit limits even when space remains.
Frequently asked questions
I deleted files but usage has not dropped.
Some panels update usage figures on a schedule, and email deletions only free space once Trash is emptied. Give it a little time, then recheck.
What are inodes and why do they matter?
An inode is one file. Many hosting plans cap the number of files, so cleaning up thousands of small cache or email files helps even if disk space looks fine.
