How to Set Up Your VernalWeb Email on an iPhone or Android

Having your email on your phone means you never miss an important message. Adding your VernalWeb mailbox to an iPhone or Android takes only a few minutes, and the settings are the same on both.

The settings you need

Replace yourdomain.com with your real domain:

  • Incoming (IMAP): mail.yourdomain.com, port 993, SSL
  • Outgoing (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com, port 465 or 587
  • Username: your full email address
  • Password: your mailbox password

Set up on iPhone

  1. Open Settings → Mail → Accounts → Add Account.
  2. Tap Other, then Add Mail Account.
  3. Enter your name, email and password, then tap Next.
  4. Choose IMAP and enter the incoming and outgoing details above.
  5. Tap Save.

Set up on Android

  1. Open your mail app and choose Add account → Other.
  2. Enter your full email address and password.
  3. Select IMAP and enter the servers and ports above.
  4. Finish the wizard.

Frequently asked questions

My phone connects for incoming but not outgoing mail.

Make sure the outgoing server has authentication switched on, using the same full email and password. Try port 587 if 465 does not connect.

Should I use IMAP or POP3 on my phone?

Use IMAP so mail stays in sync with your other devices. Here is the difference between POP3 and IMAP.

Emails are slow to arrive on my phone.

Check whether the account is set to Push or Fetch in your phone’s mail settings, and pick a shorter fetch interval if needed.
