How to Install Joomla Using Softaculous

Joomla is a powerful, free content management system — a flexible middle ground between simple site builders and full custom development. The easiest way to get it running on your hosting is Softaculous, the one-click app installer built into cPanel. No manual database setup, no file uploads.

Step 1: Open Softaculous

Log in to cPanel.
Scroll to the Softaculous Apps Installer section (or open Software → Softaculous).
Search for Joomla and click it, then click Install.

Step 2: Choose where to install

Protocol — pick https:// so your site loads securely from the start (make sure SSL is installed first).
Domain — select the domain to install on.
In Directory — leave this blank to install at the domain root (recommended). Only fill it in if you want Joomla in a subfolder.

Step 3: Set up your admin account

Enter a strong admin username, password and email. Avoid "admin" as the username, and use a genuinely strong password — see creating strong passwords. These are your keys to the whole site.

Step 4: Install and log in

Click Install and wait a moment. Softaculous creates the database, installs the files, and gives you two links: your site and your admin login (usually at /administrator). You are ready to start building.
