How to Create and Manage Email Forwarders in cPanel
An email forwarder automatically passes messages sent to one address on to another. It is perfect for team aliases like sales@yourdomain.com, or for pulling several addresses into a single inbox you actually watch.
Create a forwarder in cPanel
- Log in to cPanel and open Email → Forwarders.
- Click Add Forwarder.
- Enter the address to forward from (for example
info). - Enter the destination address to forward to.
- Click Add Forwarder. New mail now reaches the destination automatically.
Forwarder or mailbox — which do you need?
A forwarder does not store mail; it just passes it along. If you also want messages kept on the server, create a real mailbox with creating an email account in cPanel, then add a forwarder beside it.
Setting up a catch-all address
A catch-all captures mail sent to any name at your domain, even ones that do not exist. In cPanel this is the Default Address feature under Email. Point it to your main inbox — but use it sparingly, as catch-alls can attract a lot of spam.
Related email tools
Combine forwarders with email filters to sort messages automatically, or an autoresponder to reply while you are away.

Does forwarding affect email deliverability?
Forwarding to big providers can sometimes trip spam checks. Proper SPF, DKIM and DMARC records help forwarded mail stay trusted — see also improving deliverability.
How do I remove a forwarder?
Return to Email → Forwarders, find it in the list and click Delete.
